ABOUT ME
Hello and welcome to my website! I'm so glad you are here. I am a married mother of two sons who have left home and started their own life journeys. I have spent a number of years at home raising them and learning all about the developmental stages children go through on their way to adulthood. I love engaging with young people, especially teens and young adults and love helping parents navigate through the developmental joys and challenges. I love listening to others and helping guide them to living their best life. People find me easy to engage with and enjoy my humorous spin on things. People say I’m down to earth, reliable, and trustworthy and I think that comes through in my sessions with my clients.
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work in the ‘90’s, and have been a lifelong learner since that time. I am known for referring my friends to great parenting books, articles or Ted-Talks. I have taken many classes and trainings over the years on topics such as parenting, trauma and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), specifically CBT for people with anxiety. My past work experiences include but are not limited to, working with victims of abuse and trauma; working with people who struggle with substances such as alcohol or opioids, and navigating mental health systems.
I purposefully keep my practice small and see approximately 20-25 clients a week from Monday-Thursday. I have found that doing this allows me the time to really get to my clients and to ensure I can be fully prepared and present for our sessions together.
I look forward to meeting you!
